Kangra, 27th October 2017: India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. today marked the inauguration of its Yamaha Training School (YTS) at the premises of HIET Group of Institutes in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Yamaha and HIET Group of Institutes jointly aim to create a 'Centre of Excellence' where youngsters will receive two-wheeler technical training that will enable them to become expert two-wheeler technicians. Thereafter, they could be employed gainfully at Yamaha dealerships to offer productive contributions to the society. Technical experts from Yamaha are conducting the YTS program on behalf of India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Masaki Asano, Managing Director, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said: "As a socially responsible company, Yamaha will always support new generation by providing technical education and facilitating employment or entrepreneurship. Technical knowhow and entrepreneurial skills in younger generations will play a vital role in retaining the country's growth as India is becoming an economic powerhouse. Technical training at YTS will empower them with self-perpetuating certainty as after completion of the course, they can take up technical jobs in automobile sector or choose entrepreneurship."
Commenting at the event, Mr. Ravinder Singh, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Planning, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, "Yamaha's way to future is laid over certain social responsibilities - to empower relatively indigent youngsters of the society by creating opportunities of employment. Since 2013, Yamaha Technical Schools (YTSs) have rigorously manifested collaborations with various institutions across the country to offer technical education and generate employment for the young students who are otherwise hard pressed by circumstances to give up education. Till 2016, more than 300 students (including females) were trained and facilitated employment at Yamaha dealerships. The inauguration of the 34th YTS with HIET Group of Institutes in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh will help the deserving students to find employment in the automobile sector after the course on technical training."
India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. (IYM) recently signed a MoU with Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) for affiliation of all course running at Yamaha Training School. Yamaha is the first and only among the two-wheeler companies in India, with ASDC approved training program for "Automotive Service Technician" category under its CSR activity.
As a part of its continued CSR initiative, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. is poised to adopt Government/Private Technical Institutes and to partner with reputed NGOs across India to launch Yamaha Training Schools with Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA) certification. Yamaha also plans to launch YTS across India to encourage the relatively indigent youngsters to master two wheeler technologies. Yamaha has inaugurated a total of 34 Yamaha Training Schools across India including today's inauguration in HIET Group of Institutes in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
