REPORT / ANNOUNCE
Chennai, December 14, 2008: It was the ultimate test of grit and determination on Irungattukottai Race Track, here, when best of the racers from all three editions for Yamaha YZF-R15 Championship, competed and displayed their racing skills during Grand Finale Race, held on 14th Dec’08. Through R15 Championship, India Yamaha Motors aim to push motor sports in India to new highs and provide an ideal platform for racing talents to hone and test their skills. The winners of the championship were bestowed prizes worth Rs. 2 lacs.
YZF-R15 owned customers and racers from Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Coimbatore & other areas competed with racers from first, second and third editions of Yamaha YZF-R15 Championship in the Grand Finale race. To mark the culmination of this spectacular series, Yamaha also organized a special racing competition among auto journalists.
Dino John from Kerala secured 1st place in the beginner class while H. M. Vinodh and Avinash Rao from Karnataka secured 2nd & 3rd place respectively.
In the class B professional category, Shrishandarajah from Tamilnadu took Grand finale title of YZF-R15 Racing Championship, while Vishwanath T.K. & Sameer Venugopal from Karnataka secured 1st & 2nd runner up position respectively.
For the class C novice category Nadeem from Andhra Pradesh got the 1st prize while M.S. Sudheesh from Kerala & Joel Joseph from Karnataka bestowed the 2nd & 3rd prizes.
In the State champions where riders participated from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala & from Tamilnadu Vivek Pillai from Tamil Nadu, Vishwanath T.K. from Karnataka, M.S. Sudheesh from Kerala & Nadeem from Andhra Pradesh were honored the state champion .
In the special category Sameer Venugopal from Karnakata got the prize of Best dressed up rider & Abdul Aziez from Tamilnadu awarded for the best looking YZF-R15.
